As an experienced clinical assessor for psychoanalytic psychotherapy I have, for many years, offered assessments for people who are troubled and are seeking help. While I no longer offer long-term clinical work, I do provide a consultation service for twins who are experiencing difficulties in their lives or relationships; and to parents of twins who are looking for guidance in enabling their twin children in their development.
A consultation offers an opportunity to talk about and explore the difficulties that are impeding development and relationships, to assess what sort of help is required, and how best to arrange this. The meeting usually lasts for up to one and a half hours. If necessary, a follow-up meeting may be offered. If it is felt to be appropriate, referral to a qualified and experienced psychotherapist may be offered.
The consultation for twins may take place with both twins together, or with one twin seeking help. I may continue to see both twins for a period to help them resolve issues in their twin relationship, or I may refer them individually to a psychoanalytic psychotherapist for longer-term help.
Applicants for Training:
I am an experienced assessor for various Psychoanalytic Training Organisations. I meet with applicants who wish to apply for and qualify as Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists, and for Training Therapists and Supervisors. The assessment involves a consultation with the applicant and a written report which is sent to the organization involved.
